Nimona

Resumen:

Swords! Magic! Lasers! In this kingdom, knights and modern technology coexist. Its order is disrupted by the arrival of a person named Nimona, who can transform themself into various creatures and who also offers their services to the chief villain. Together with him, they try to show the whole kingdom that the local idol and his colleagues from the “Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics” are not who they claim to be. Nimona’s past also hides a dark secret, so what initially appears to be a parody of fantasy genre stereotypes gradually turns into a story about our inner demons. The comic book Nimona is simply as cheeky and unpredictable as its title character.

Comentario:

This humorous comic book, full of action and adventure, encourages readers to think critically not only about the characteristics stereotypically attributed to girls and boys, but also about the fact that good and evil are often indistinguishable at first glance and that we should not be guided by first impressions and prejudices. Through the main characters, the author highlights the complexity and diversity of people and their personalities and experiences. The comic book does not shy away from topics such as prejudices associated with social class or the consequences of unprocessed trauma and minority stress.
