Summary:
Stories of young women who grow up and no longer want to be called little girls. For their school and their families, they are still children. But they don’t feel like that, they are growing up, they are already girls who discover what they like and what they don’t, they know what they want, and what they are not willing to put up with. They get angry and reveal who they are only to their diary, among scribbles, photos, and magazine cuttings. The diary is their own space, where they can be themselves without fear of anyone’s judgement. Three girls go to the same school in the 90s, they don’t know each other, and by crossing paths they give life to a story of choral coming-of-age: light and difficult as only that age can be. This captivating graphic novel tells the stories of three girls and of a particular moment of change in their lives. Many themes are explored: friendship, love, sexual orientation, aspirations, the often merciless and difficult comparison with their peers. The result is a credible and lively portrait of adolescence, suspended between hopes for the future and the melancholy of a tormented present, illustrated in three-colour illustrations with drawings that recall the iconography of the 1990s.
