King & King & Family

Summary:

Join newlyweds King Lee and King Bertie on their journey into the noisy jungle. The kings are greeted by wild animal families, but the royal travelers suspect that something more significant awaits them in the trees. King & King soon discover that there is no adventure more wonderful than starting a family of their own.

Comment:

The sequel to Lambda Literary Award nominee King and King, this well-written and beautifully illustrated book challenges stereotypical representations of families often found in traditional children’s books. It focuses on the theme of adoption in a same-sex family.
