Clive and his babies

Summary:

This book follows Clives’ activities with his two dolls, who he calls his babies.

Comment:

The book is entirely focused on Clive’s play with his dolls, and shows some of Clive’s friends, both male and female, playing with the dolls too. What is most striking about this book is that there is no attempt or need to “explain” why Clive is playing with dolls; it simply follows his play, therefore removing the feel of an “issue book” and retaining its focus on the child’s play and its depiction of diversity.
