Comment:
The minimal text in this book encourages exploration of the layered and inter-textual illustrations presented throughout in the variety of Willy’s dreams. Though representation of gender is not to the forefront of the text, the variety of Willy’s dreams, including that of being a ballet dancer, is important, as it is the act of dreaming, not stereotypically associated with boys in children’s literature.
