Sonne, Moon und Sterne
(Sun, Moon and Stars) Book not yet available in English
Summary:
No-one knows exactly why eleven-year-old Gustav is called “Gustav”, but that’s not really important for this story. Summer is just around the corner, and her parents have cancelled the family holiday in Denmark. They’re having what’s called a “mid-life crisis” (puberty, but for parents) and they need some space. On top of all this Gustav grows breasts, and how are you supposed to go to the outdoor pool with two bumps on your chest, as if nothing has changed? Gustav feels like this summer will be the ending of a lot of familiar things – and the beginning of so many new ones! [Source: publisher]

Comment:
Lara Schützsack writes tenderly, poetically and lovingly about the little changes that come with growing up; those changes that sometimes bring about quiet earthquakes, completely unnoticed. [Source: publisher]
