Rose rage

(Rage Rose) Book not yet available in English

Summary:

When the victim of yet another sexist attack is expelled from school for responding with violence, Rachèle decides that enough is enough and, shy as she is, calls on all the girls at the school to go on strike. Supported on the first day, the strike runs out of steam when a committee of girls decides to radicalize the action by occupying the school.

Comment:

A suspensful account of an occupation, in which Rachèle discovers the complexity of feminist movements and militant action, Rose Rage is also the story of an awakening that will last beyond a single event. [Summary and comment by Clarisse Gadala, published in December 2020 in La Revue des livres pour enfants].
