Summary:
Since time immemorial, we girls have done and continue to do extraordinary things: we build schools, we write books, we create art, we cycle around the world, we hike, we work in factories, we fight for a more just society, and so on. But for centuries, the world has functioned according to rules that have marginalized women and reduced their role to taking care of their husbands, children, and their household. Because of that, it is high time we say it out loud that we girls have also played a big role in shaping history. The book offers us short descriptions of 30 brave women who faced various obstacles in their respective times, all unfavourable to women. Apart from that, the book serves as a source of inspiration and encourages girls who choose to read it to be brave. This book is for anyone who just needs that one extra drop of confidence to finally write that song, draw that sketch, and make that long-distance jump… To do what they have always wanted to do but never could because they lacked the courage.
