Comment:
The title suggests an anti-sexist manifesto. The book avoids the trap of heavy moralising, cutting straight to the heart of a simple point: boys can like dolls and have powerful, contradictory feelings for their fathers. The intelligent, witty book, with its lively pictures, debunks stereotypes from the viewpoint of a boy, which is still fairly unusual.
