Summary:
Mauri is born into the notorious Burglary family on a particularly beautiful day. The parents immediately begin to suspect that the boy will not become a proper robber, and they are absolutely right. Although Mauri tries to follow in his family’s footsteps, all his attempts to rob and do evil accidentally turn into good deeds. Eventually, Mauri begins to wonder if he has to be a robber after all. Could he be better in some other profession?

The picturebook deals with the breaking of expectations and roles coming from outside. The parents assume that Mauri will become a decent robber. However, Mauri is kind, and the crimes do not succeed. With the help of a new friend, he dares to be himself and do what he wants. In the picturebook, expectations and stereotypes are linked to the profession, but they can also be interpreted to be linked to gender: Mauri behaves and has a different nature than the expectations from outside assume.
