Mi padre es ama de casa, ¿y qué?

(My dad is a househusband, and?) Book not yet available in English

Not everyone is the same. So what? Some people are very different and have their own singularities. So what? diversity is awesome. Lucia tells us how her classmates make fun of her father because he’s a stay-at-home dad.

The book fosters gender equality concerning careers, blurring the traditional lines that separated male and female work profiles. The message is simple and yet cogent: whatever you wish to do, make sure you do your best and, mainly, that you enjoy yourself. In addition, the tale dignifies household chores. In fact, the father is happy with what he does, and he even teaches his children to dance tangos with the help of his broomstick. Besides, it should not go unnoticed that it is a girl who realizes that his dad’s profession is as relevant and necessary as any other, and she declares that defending his choice against criticism shows women’s courage to fight for right reasons.
