Matilde si fida

(Matilde trusts) Book not yet available in English

Summary:

Matilde has a special brother, called Martino. It wasn’t easy to see him arriving in her house, already grown-up and with a mysterious saddlebag. Their days go by, filled with jealousy, misunderstandings, but also a lot of fun. Until one day they discover what’s hidden in the saddlebag.

Comment:

A picture book which speaks of acceptance, fun, and love, without hiding the difficulties and problems that foster care often involves. The author chooses to visually represent diversity and the theme of foster care through a male hedgehog and a female bunny. The short texts which come with the illustrations give voice to the feelings of both Matilde and Martino. The series “EduGatto – Piccole storie per rimpicciolire i problemi” (EduGatto – Small stories to make problems smaller) by Almayer aims to start a dialogue rich in fantasy between children and adults.
