Mara i tata

(Mara and her dad) Book not yet available in English

Mara has only a dad, and her friend Goran has just a mum. They are happy in their small families, but they would like to know what it feels like to have another parent. To find out, Mara borrows Goran’s mom for one day, and Goran borrows her dad.

What do the children of single parents experience? Do they encounter difficulties? How does society relate to them? This picture book will help children of single parents feel good and encourage them to share their thoughts with peers and adults. It will help parents talk about the subject with children, comment on the life of Mara and Goran, and talk about their own. On the other hand, children who grow up with both parents will increase understanding of peers and friends who do not live with both parents.
