Mamma Natale, ovvero l’importanza di nascere donna

(Mrs. Claus: the importance of being born a woman) Book not yet available in English

Summary:

It’s 24th of December and Santa Claus decided to give up his traditional reindeer-drawn sleigh to use a roaring, super-modern automatic sled. But very soon Santa catches a cold and goes back home. Luckily there is his wife, Mrs. Claus, who replaces him and, with a bag full of tools, succeeds in satisfying the desires of all the boys and girls who are waiting for their gifts.

Comment:

A book that gently overturns gender stereotypes, enhancing women’s ability to solve even the most complex situations. A book which is sometimes comic and which jokes on men’s lack of resilience to difficult situations and illness. It is also a text on the magic of Christmas which remains in our societies, despite the spread of technology and of the principle of automation.
