(The day daddy got married again) Book not yet available in English

Summary:

Guillaume is upset because his daddy is getting married again. Marilou tells the teacher that he’s not marrying a lady, but… a man! Guillaume is worried. If he turns out gay like his daddy, how can he achieve his own plan to become a dad? Miradie says he can adopt a baby. Alima says maybe she will be gay too and they can have a baby together and share joint custody. All these bright ideas cheer Guillaume up, and the class can get on with their lesson! This title is part of a series by Thierry Lenain featuring a primary school class and its teacher encountering a wide range of individual and social situations. The children in Le jour où Papa s’est remarié (“The day daddy got married again”) discuss the wide range of family structures in today’s society and put Guillaume’s family, with a gay father marrying a man, on an equal footing with other families, which can all be happy places to grow up.
