Summary:

What do you get when a seasoned author, who is at the same time also an experienced speleologist, sets his new young adult novel in a cave? An exciting and compelling adventure! Speleological trainee Blaž and a complete beginner Irena set out on their own to explore a cave. But the adventure that was supposed to end with a few good selfies, quickly turns into a fight for survival. On top of that, the rescue teams are already working on a case of a missing forest ranger … (source: publisher)

Comment:

High school students Irena and Blaž are, at first glance, two very different people, and it might seem that they have nothing in common, right until the adrenaline-fueled adventure brings them together and requires of them a great deal of courage, ingenuity, self-confidence and, above all, mutual cooperation and trust. Reckless and bold decisions made by the two protagonists, to whom teenage life feels like a walk in the park, lead to danger. And danger calls for serious and mature contemplation. Irena and Blaž enter the cave as two completely carefree and self-centred teenagers and exit as vigilant, emphatic, and responsible people who are firmly and reliably embarking on the path to adulthood. The novel has received the Desetnica Award, as well as the Golden Pear Mark of Quality.
