Jaz sem Gaj: o tem, kdo sem, kakšen sem. In podobno
(I Am Gaj: About Who I Am, What I Am Like, and Similar Thoughts) Book not yet available in English
Summary:
Anxious and struggling, fifteen-year-old Gaj is a tangle of worries. Always the odd one out, he feels as though he never quite fits the mould. Hoping to untangle his swirling thoughts and emotions, he starts a diary to let some of his struggles spill out. No filter, no holding back: he writes about his family, his friends, and the fact that he’s never been in love. And at last, he confronts a painful secret he can barely bring himself to say out loud: he was bullied by former classmates. With a loving mother and a father who’s always working, Gaj can’t shake the feeling that something about his family is off — that his parents are hiding something — even though everything seems perfect. Too perfect. His mother is quietly sad, and his father is away more than he’s home. (Maja Car Marn, Mestna knjižnica Ljubljana)

Comment:
A powerful young adult novel by a Slovenian author, the book pulls readers straight into the inner world of its protagonist. With a few plot twists along the way, it’s a heartfelt read that resonates long after you’ve put it down. (Maja Car Marn, Mestna knjižnica Ljubljana)
