Summary:
When Carlota turns 14, her grandmother gives her a pink and violet diary. As she doesn’t know what she could write about, her grandmother suggests her to write a Feminist Diary: a place to write all sexist things she experiences in her daily life. Although at first she is reluntant, she decides to do it when the coach insults her friend Dani by calling him a girl. Her grandmother tells her that in order to identify sexist situations she will have to use the violet glasses technique. This method consists in observing carefully the world to realise all the unfair and scornful situations that women experience every day.

Who decided that boys have to take the initiative in terms of love? Why does blue have to be the colour of boys and pink the colour of girls? This book is neither a novel nor a typical diary. It is a subversive guide that invites readers to reflect – sometimes with humour – on the situation of girls in today’s world. It also encourages them to continue the “violet chain.”
