Die wilden Hühner

(The wild chickens) Book not yet available in English

Summary:

“You can’t plan adventures like a ballet. They wait around the corner and bang! Suddenly, there they are!” Sprotte explains to her friends. True enough, her girls’ gang ‘The Wild Chicks’ doesn’t have long to wait for their first adventure, as ‘The Pygmies’, a gang made up of four boys in their class, release Sprotte’s grandma’s hens after a quarrel. Of course, this cries out for revenge.

Comment:

This is a really entertaining and fun read. Stylistically, the book is not as good as Cornelia Funke’s other novels, but the readers will nevertheless enjoy themselves.
