Beeelinda fuori dal gregge

(Baaalinda out of the flock) Book not yet available in English

If you’re a sheep there’s nothing better than being in a beautiful grass field, grazing carefree all day long. But Baaalinda is not a sheep like the others. She’s tired of staying with her head down and her mouth full, and she’s also tired of her boring mates. So one day she decides to change her life and to go and live on an apple tree. This will cause her some difficulties, but in the end Baaalinda will fulfil her dream.

In this picture book, the author invites girls and boys to follow who they are, not to give up their dreams and aspirations in order to conform to what is imposed by others. Baaalinda chooses to live out of the flock, metaphorically but also physically (she moves on a tree). By doing so, she faces fear and she emancipates herself from the reassuring conventions that keep her mates with their heads down. Baaalinda’s choice marks the beginning of her journey towards freedom and her search for new exciting experiences. The story of Baaalinda, a brave and creative sheep, exhorts readers to explore new horizons without fear, facing the storms and emotions that come with every change and every new encounter.
