Comment:
Ania Lemin’s short picture book, with its delicate, poetic text and illustrations, features a girl in love with her friend, Elle. Through the child’s eyes, the book explores homosexuality, tolerance, and the burden of society’s expectations. With the innocence of youth, the girl is in love with her friend, and it seems so simple and easy. Why don’t “all the different ways of loving” lead to happiness?
