The seeds of friendship

Summary:

Adam is a young boy who has just moved to a new city from a place faraway. Adam feels very lonely and misses his home and his friends, but Adam soon begins a new project that helps him to feel less lonely and make lots of friends.

Comment:

This book is interesting as it presents a young immigrant boy’s experience of loneliness, isolation, and of feeling different. The solution and response to this is an activity that further undoes some gender stereotypes – the act of planting flowers.
