The truly brave princesses

Summary:

Princess Nin is a firefighter, Princess Gilda is a supermarket cashier, Princess Agnes is retired, and Princess Liang is in a wheelchair. This catalogue of princesses gives visibility to a lot of women who do not fit with the traditional conception of a princess. Maybe it’s time to realize that each and every one of us could be a princess.

Comment:

The tender illustrations of this picture book are very detailed and appealing. Texts are quite brief and easy to read. Both illustrations and text show different women and their stories proving that women can have any type of job. Children are taught that any girl, any princess, can do whatever she wants for a life. Nowadays girls, adults and old women are brave princesses that must be educated in equality. Our society must make girls and boys be conscious of their equal rights breaking any possible stereotype.
