Summary:
A touching children’s book about two dissimilar brothers. Mo is Mo. Unpredictable and unstoppable. He does what he wants and says whatever comes to mind. With him you’re bound to experience crazy things. And sometimes Karl would like to be like him, so carefree, so uninhibited. But often it annoys him to have to look after his brother, who has a mental disability. He is constantly responsible for Mo, seven days a week. Karl would love to break free from it all, just ride his bike around the neighborhood. Or meet Nida, whom he finds ever more interesting. In order to see her, he leaves Mo alone for a few hours. Lo and behold, when he returns home, his brother has disappeared…

Seven Days Mo tells a quiet yet multi-layered story about twin brothers Karl and Moritz, showing that male characters can exist beyond gender clichés: vulnerable, fearful, loyal, and contradictory. Oliver Scherz creates a youthful everyday life that does without superhero or macho poses, instead opening up space for friendship, vulnerability, and affection – a strong gender potential, because here, boys can be portrayed beyond traditional attributions.
