Desafiar Estereótipos
(Challenging Stereotypes) Book not yet available in English
Summary:
Why? Why do I feel the need to fulfil certain social expectations related to my gender? Why does being a woman or a man influence my social behaviour? Why? ‘Challenging Stereotypes’ encourages you to question a very particular why: the why of the impositions or social constraints that are presented to you according to your gender. Now that you are making your debut or are about to make your debut in adult life, you will be confronted with a series of obstacles directly related to the fact that you are a man or a woman. These obstacles are not always easy to spot, such is their subtlety and rootedness in the norms of the society in which we live. ‘Challenging Stereotypes’ gives you the opportunity, alone or in groups, to reflect on and debate various concepts associated with the theme of Equality: Gender Stereotypes, Time Uses, Gender Roles, Androcentrism, Empowerment, Capacity Building, Sexual Harassment, among others.
