Dazwischen: Wir

(In between: Us) Book not yet available in English

Summary:

Madina has left the war and all its horrors as well as the dangerous escape behind her. She finally feels like she has arrived, living with her family at her best friend Laura’s house, no longer wearing ill-fitting clothes from the donation box, and fitting in at school without the bat of an eye. But then, the mood changes. Racist graffiti appears, and every Thursday a group chants “Foreigners out!” in the main square, at first just a few, but then growing larger and larger. It’s a test not only for Madina, but for everyone who lives in the town. However, Madina decides not to look away – and she finds allies. A passionate appeal against exclusion and the division of society!
