Comment:
Created to mark the 55th anniversary of the Slovenian Paraplegic Association, this picture book introduces the organization’s mission to children and their parents in a thoughtful and accessible way. Its title is inspired by the Association’s latest logo, where a wheelchair has been replaced by a small bird resting in a heart – a symbol of freedom, inner strength, and the will to live. Through its story, the book explores how new paths can be found after a life-changing accident. The final section includes an extensive photographic appendix documenting the activities of Slovenian paraplegics and tetraplegics, ranging from para-skiing and diving to paragliding and beyond, offering a glimpse into their diverse pursuits.
