Summary:
The book is a collection of nine short stories, poetically crafted with touches of magical realism. Its central message is that parents—responsible for their relationship with their child—can, and should, change their behaviour if it causes the child distress. The first step is recognizing the ways they might be acting wrongly. The author encourages (self-)reflection not only among young readers but also their parents. Each story concludes with thoughtful questions, inspired by real-life situations, inviting reflection on universal emotions such as anger, sadness, competitiveness, and self-centeredness. Together with them, we explore when to listen and when to speak, how to deal with excessive worry and when to ask for help, how to respond to anger and sadness, how to remain honest, what to do with excessive competitiveness, how to show affection, how to react to teasing, and how to take responsibility for our actions.
