Summary:
Fourth-grader Anni’s life feels miserable. Her best friend has moved to America and the family’s pet pig, Vaappu, doesn’t warm up to Anni at all. Anni knows she’s cheerful and outgoing at home, but for some reason she doesn’t dare to talk to anyone at school, not even to the new student in the class, Riia. Fortunately, she has an older brother, Akseli, who encourages Anni to approach her classmates. The book begins a book series.

The children’s novel deals with how making new friends is not always easy. Anni is cheerful at home, but shy at school, which makes it difficult for her to get to know others. At home, her pet pig Vaappu is shy, and Anni does not get a proper connection. Big brother helps Anni, but getting to know others is still slow. Finding things to do together can take time.
