Comment:
The book is a young adult crime novel where the protagonist is a strong and confident girl. That girl is fourteen-year-old Tina, whose twin sister, Lara, was murdered in unexplained circumstances. Her mother and father, both highly educated, have resigned themselves to their fate and put their trust in the official investigation. While the latter is in progress, it is not moving anywhere, and Tina, beside herself with grief because the investigation has been at a standstill for months, is tired of waiting. The independent and stubborn teenager with an analytical and mathematical mind, who never gives up when she sets her mind to something, and who defies rules and obstacles, decides to find Lara’s killer herself. Her three friends, Mia, Teja, and Mojca, help her along the way, but the key role in this eerie journey falls to Tina herself. Even though she is “one little hell of a brainiac”, as her psychologist, who helps her grieve for Laura, tells her, Tina relies too much on her cleverness and overlooks what her sixth sense is telling her … The book is targeted at the age range 14+, but it is also suitable for younger readers who are capable of critical independent reading.
