In this book, we follow the stories of 50 extraordinary Slovenian women who had to demonstrate not only their professionalism, but also incredible courage, ingenuity, and self-confidence in order to pursue their chosen path and push the boundaries of our world. Each in their own way and in their own profession, they fought against the prejudices our society has about women in science, the arts, and sports. The outstanding editorial decision to have 20 Slovenian women authors contribute the stories and 10 women illustrators contribute the illustrations was also an excellent way of honouring women creators not only on paper, but in practice as well. The book has received the Golden Pear Mark of Quality.
