Comment:
Hachette is bringing out a new edition of Georges Chaulet’s well-known series, whose first title was published in 1961. Fantômette has fascinated and inspired several generations of readers, with over fifteen million copies sold in just over fifty years. She is seen as one of the first feminist heroines in children’s literature, as she can do anything from flying a helicopter to scuba diving, and invariably uses her intelligence and bravery to unmask crooks and conmen.
