Summary:
When the protagonist of the story was very, very little, she lived in another house, in another place, and in another country. Her mother went there to take her, and they came back home by plane. Now, she knows many new things, speaks another language, and knows that every person is different.

This is a delightful book that (a) makes children understand and celebrate difference, tolerance and multicultural society (the main character is a black girl in a white world that has welcomed her well; her mother explains that there are different people: fat, thin, tall, short, with glasses); (b) makes children understand that everything is relative (for example, her mother tells her that when they travel they are the foreigners, indeed); and (c) it describes new types of families (stepparents, families with different ethnic backgrounds, etc.). Finally, readers come to know that step (or different) children can be happy and develop a strong healthy personality as long as if they are frankly and sweetly informed.
