Comment:
This bilingual text in Spanish and English tells the story of a family with two moms. The reader’s expectations, however, start shifting after realising that the name “Fran” does not stand for what they had initially imagined. It will be only at the end of the book that the character’s true (female) gender will come to light. The actions and elements which are described cannot be ascribed exclusively to males or females. The book demonstrates that a good story does not need to be packed with action or tell extraordinary events. Any daily routine may be equated with contentment and tranquility.
