This book succeeds in summarising the complex themes of divorce, homosexuality, and the new lives of parents in a few pages with simple and enjoyable illustrations. It also has the merit of presenting these themes as normal. The series “Piccola storia di una famiglia” (Small story of a family) contains books which deal with different forms of parenting. The publishing house Lo Stampatello was established with the specific aim to fill a gap in the Italian publishing market for children – the absence of representations of queer families.
