The wolf wilder
Summary:
This is the story of Fedora (Feo) and her mother, who are wolf wilders, training tame wolves to become wild and to fend for themselves again. When the commander of the army wants to get rid of the wolves, and those who make them wild, Feo faces an almost impossible challenge.

Comment:
This book is an important exploration of women and girls who go against the gendered expectations of society. Indeed, Feo’s position outside society means she is in many ways freed from society’s expectations and excels as a result. This is in contrast to Ilya, a young boy who is made to feel he has not lived up to what is expected of him as a young man.
