Summary:

Thirteen-year-old Lena and her brother Lars have it good together. They get along well, and Lars trusts his big sister. But since Lena learnt that her parents want to split up, she seems to have been torn out of all her dreams. What’s more, she is furious because her parents don’t want to talk to her about it. She wants to help, but Lena desperately needs help herself. And Lars doesn’t know where he belongs. The children don’t have any say in their parents’ divorce, and Lena realises how helpless her parents are as well. But maybe even parents can still learn something new.

In all his books, Peter Härtling accurately describes the experiences of children and adolescents from their point of view. The distinguishing feature of his books is also the poetic simplicity of the language he uses.
