Summary:
In this graphic novel the female writer relates her grannies’ life as a tribute to their generation. Memories are combined with present feelings narrating how women’s life was in Spain in 1980. Women were the support and the heart of their families under Franco’s dictatorship. Their “secondary” role was esssential at that period despite gender drawbacks.

The writer, Ana Penyas, is also the illustrator of this brilliant graphic novel. She combines a range of techniques and colours resulting in strong tender images that give real voices to women. No doubt readers will enjoy this text and its message about gender-equality.
