Vive la danse !
(Long live dance!) Book not yet available in English
Summary:
Hector cannot sit still, so his parents decide to sign him up for dance classes to burn off some energy. And he absolutely loves it! So much so that he can think about nothing else, dances everywhere, and covers his walls with posters of arabesques… “That’s enough!” his father snaps. But Hector refuses to stop: he takes a run-up, makes a great leap, and starts spinning around the ceiling, four metres up in the air. Impossible to bring him back down! To get Hector back down, his father has to start practicing his own ballet leaps.

Comment:
Didier Lévy and Magali Le Huche portray their characters with tenderness and deconstruct the stereotypical images associated with dance. The characters are mischievous and the illustrations whirl elegantly on the page.
