Comment:

This introspective multi-part graphic novel, told from the perspective of the main character, Charlie Spring, opens up a world full of beautiful illustrations, emotional personal stories, personal growth, love, and friendship to anyone who picks up the book. The books explore not only queer relationships between the main characters and the problems faced by transgender people, but also eating disorders, school bullying, and other important topics—all through personal stories and expressive drawings. The author gently guides readers through the topics of heteronormativity and cisnormativity, pointing out the impact that stereotypes can have on adolescents and young adults.
